You have made a good choice in wanting to vacation in the Sunshine State. Of course, nothing will fit the bill better than a visit to Disney World, especially if you have children. Orlando is, by far, the king of theme parks. Just outside of Orlando there exists a greater concentration of fantasy and theme parks than anywhere else in the world!

The doors of Walt Disney World were opened in 1971. Now Orlando has never been the same. You can spend weeks at the other dozen theme parks and entertainment facilities that Orlando has to offer. Walt Disney World comprises a 45 mile complex boasting four major theme parks, an entertainment/shopping park and two water parks. Magic Kingdom seems to appeal to everyone young and old.

Everyone wants to join in the Main Street Electrical Parade. Those who love to dabble with science will surely want to stay a while at Epcot Center. It features the high-tech world of the future and the World Showcase where you can experience the cultures from eleven great nations.

When visiting Florida, one of your stops will simply have to be Orlando's Sea World. You can see spectacular shows put on by killer whales, dolphins, seals and sea lions. You can visit the touch pool where visitors are allowed to touch various marine life. Just imagine touching a real live stingray as it swims by! If you are on the adventurous side then you will want to take a spin on the water coaster, Journey to Atlantis.

If you like to swim with the fish, then Discovery Cove is your bag! It is actually a sister-park to Sea World. You can either choose to relax on the pristine white sandy beaches or you can go snorkeling at the Coral Reef. For many people, the main attraction is the Dolphin Swim where you can actually talk, play, touch and swim with bottlenose dolphins.

Another great motion picture along with a television theme park is Universal Studios Florida. Most of the shows/rides that Universal Studios has to offer provide a greater entertainment experience because it includes special effects, physical movement, 3-D imagery, lighting and sound. This park also caters to the little ones with Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone, Animal Actors Stage and various playlands and studios.

Florida has many vacation opportunities. Aside from the theme parks, there are other interests and activities that will appeal to everyone. Daytona Beach is famous for its 23 mile beach. Much of it can be driven on with motorcycles, cars and various types of rental vehicles. Now, if you are a race car fan, Daytona Beach is home to Daytona International Speedway. Have you ever heard of the Daytona 500? This is where it all takes place!

You may finally want to make an educational stop at Kennedy Space Center as well as Cape Canaveral. This is America's space port. Many presentations, tours and displays about our space program's past, present and future are put on by NASA. You will also see many rockets on display.
